We
are a couple, Ellen and Knut, living in a place called Stange in Norway. We
live in a small farm so we have a lot of space around us and it’s lovely to
have dogs here. Both of us have always loved dogs, and always had these
creatures around us. We both like the nature and Knut use a lot of time
hunting. Knut wanted to have a dog he could use for that purpose. That’s why
we got our first Basset Artesien Normand, Chico (Banubas Whiskey) in 2001.
We came in contact with the owner of Kennel Melwood in February 2003. They helped us with our second dog Pablo (Kenatour Diva Sting), an American Staffordshire Terrier. We have to thank Roy and Isabell for introducing us for this lovely breed and for the good friendship. Pablo was a special dog for us, but we lost him after only two years. Of course we wanted a new dog like Pablo, but Norway’s government decided to forbid the American Staffordshire Terrier in august 2004. That’s a decision we do not agree in, and we hope that some day they will undo this. After all this we decided to look forward, and we wanted to start a kennel of our own. We wanted to keep up with the Basset artesian Normand and to find a replacement for The American Staffordshire Terrier, and ended up with the lovely breed of Miniature Bull Terrier, some very funny creatures. Ellen traveled to Scotland in 2005 to pick up the first one, Quini (Seayess Smart Berry). Quickly after that we got three more Bassets, one more Miniature Bull Terrier (Amatol Wicked Willow) born in Australia, and we also got a new hunting dog, Lucy, a Schweitzer Støver. We
concentrate to raise Bassets and Minibulls. The puppies that will be born here will be raised in an environment with both human contact, as well as contact with other dogs. We do the best we can to have healthy and happy dogs. We spend much time with Bassets in hunting training, and out in the forest “on the real thing”. Our goal is to get the best of the best, hunting and working lines. We take this important job very seriously, and in our kennel bad temperament is not expectable. Hope You will enjoy your stay here, and if you have questions of some kind, please contact us. Feel free to write in our guestbook. We also have to use the last lines to thank some people: First of all we will thank Roy and Isabell (Kennel Melwood) for introducing us to the wonderful breed Amstaff and for all good help. Then we must thank Stine Westli and the Langberg family for taking so good care of Quini and Trine. At the end we will thank Tom Hagen for helping us making this homepage.
